Since we are making bones today to represent Genocide. What Bone will you make, and why? What does a bone symbolize? Does a specific bone bring more emotion to you? What bone in your body seems to cause more emotion when it is destroyed?

  1. The bone I will make is the pelvic bone. I want to make the pelvic bone because I think it would be cool to make. I think it would be different and plus it helps you move your lower body. A bone symbolizes the millions of people that died in genocide. Their bones just laying there in the dirt. The skull is the most specific bone and brings emotion to me. Once your skull is destroyed you are dead. The bone in my body that seems to cause more emotion to me is the rib cage. Once you get shot in your rib cage it can destroy your kidneys.

  2. I am not sure what bone I have decided to create yet because I don’t know what emotional connection I have with it. I would like to create the Humerus bone but I feel that my hip bone would have more of an emotional connection personally, because of everything I have gone through with it. I also have a deep emotional connection with my spinal cord because of my diagnoses of Scoliosis but I do not want to create that either, maybe because those are touchy subjects for me. My spine has put me through so much everyday because now I am permanently swollen in my back and have to wear a brace. The time my back is most painful is when my spine switches sides, that’s the worst. With my hip I was put on bed rest for a month and couldn’t dance for two because I injured it so severely. For me, those two parts of my body would have the most emotional connection, but I think I’m going to stick to my Humerus bone because I constantly hit it, causing my “funny bone” to react, but it’s really not funny!

  3. I never really thought about which bone I was going to make. I thought I would go in and decide then. Thinking about it, I guess I would choose one of the wrist bones because a few years ago I shattered my entire left wrist the radius and the ulna. It is a pretty graphic story behind me breaking it which I'm not going to get into but since then I guess I've related to that bone the most because I was without it in a cast for about two months. For the one million bones project the bones represent genocide and show how many people died because of it. I guess to answer the question I have to tell my story about how I shattered my wrist. I was thirteen and riding my bike with a few friends. Everyone went up on a curb which I've done numerous times before. This time however I missed the curb and fell on my left wrist with the end result being the bones popping out of my skin (gross). So after surgery and a metal rod in my wrist, it's a lot better. I guess "emotionally" I would relate to that bone out of any other bone in my body. I think if any bone in your body is "destroyed" it would not only cause serious pain but also extreme emotion.

  4. I can’t decide for my bone, it will either be a skull or the radius and the ulna. The reason I pick the skull is because that is where all of my ideas come from and I want that bone to be a part of this bone making project and make my ideas into where my ideas come from. If my skull was destroyed I would have now where to get my ideas from and not be able to think what to make up. The reason I would pick the radius and ulna, also known as the forearm bone, is because I make my arm with that bone and helps me move around what I need to get to in my art. Without my forearm I wouldn’t be a artist because without that bone it would be hard from me to make my art.

  5. I may make a thumb bone yeah I know its seems as if I’m being lazy but think it your thumb bone is extremely important to your everyday life if you didn’t have it how would you do anything. Believe or not but your thumb bone is the most important bone in the hand in my opinion think about.

  6. Today during the One Million Bones project, I have chosen to make a foot bone. Your feet are what bring you places, to explore the world. They able me to wear cute shoes, colorful socks, or fun slippers. My feet let me feel the hot sand squish between your toes while walking along a beach. My feet allow me to get a nice relaxing pedicure! My feet are the two things that let me dance. Without my feet I would have no talent, passion, or life goal. To never be able to slip on a pair of tap shoes just to feel the rhythm against my feet would be devastating. I love my feet!

  7. Today I will make a hand bone for the one million bone project. The reason why I’m making a hand is because areas that are suffering from genocide need a hand. The people that are suffering from genocide need a hand to get help in their homelands. The hand bone represents help towards genocide. The bone brings emotion to me because the people are suffering. I want to help the word get out about genocide by giving them a hand by donating to the victims. The bone that will cause more emotions to me is my skull. If my skull is destroyed my brain will fall, what I mean is if I don’t think positive I will fall. By me falling I will give up all my dreams and become a failure if I don’t think positive.

  8. The bone I’m making is the upper arm bone because I feel that is where we hold the most weight in our arm. A bone symbolizes connection and temple. My knees seem to bring more emotion to me cause of my injury I had when dancing. I can remember when I popped my knee out of place and I couldn’t dance for a whole year and half. I thought I wasn’t going to dance again but my knees still hurts when dancing if I’m on it long.

  9. I plan to make the Skull. The skull will have to be one of the most important parts of the body next to the spine. I think a bone symbolize “life” because you have to take care of yourself, it is like a responsibility you have, like many you will have in life. The spine brings more emotion, because without it, you’re just a vegetable.

  10. I will be making a sternum because not only is it the center of the chest but it brings a lot of other bones together just like me. If I was classified into a bone I definitely would be a sternum because I bring everyone together and hold many people together. I cannot find a specific bone that brings more emotion to me.

  11. Well I was thinking about making the bone you find in you're forearm. The reason I have for making this bone is that it's directly connected to my hand and is the bone that holds the muscle group that controls my grip and finger movements. The reason this is so important to me is because I have many crafts that characterize who I am. As an Archer my forearm is my guide and my hand is my initative for action. As an artist I sculpt with my hands. As a guitarist My hands and fingers help me create music and I see the movement of my muscle groups as my fingers find the cords and notes to make the sound that I want.
