  1. In Persepolis I think I would choose to be Marjane. Even though she is growing up during a hard time in her country, I think it would be cool to experiecne something like she did. She also fights for what she beleives in and stands up for herself which makes her a stronger individual. I think because of her atributes and growing up during the time that she did,I would want to be her.

  2. I don’t really want to be anybody in True Notebooks, but what I would want is Mark, Sister Janet and Duane patience. They seem so calm and relax, I guess because I’m really not teaching material or whatever, but this book really helps me motive myself with build some patience.

  3. If I would be a character out the book True Notebook i would want to be sister Janet.Janet is the person who help get the writing program started for the inmates and she had hope and faith that no matter who they are the can have a place to come and share what they felt.Janet had a desire and dream that everyone can overcome their situations if they just have faith and courage to push forward!!!!!!

  4. If I had to choose a character from the book I would choose the actual author, Mark Salzman. Because In my eyes I still feel that he still is a main character. I would not choose anyone else because I do not feel that I would fit if I was to play their roll. Not only do I think I would not match their personality, but I know for a fact I would never do anything to be in the positions these inmates are in. Also, Mark is the one analyzing their personalities and what they did to be in the position they are in. I feel that is what I would be doing. To me that is much more interesting and an amazing experience. Things like these interest me so much because it is something that would be more my speed. I would much rather take full advantage of knowing what goes on first hand rather than reading it in a book or getting research out of an article from someone else’s experience.

  5. If I could be any character in the book I’m reading “True Notebook” I would say Mark because I couldn’t under any circumstances see myself locked up. I have too much stuff to do rather sitting in a juvenile hall or prison so I would chose Mark the Narrator.

  6. In the novel, Persepolis, out of all the characters within the text I would probably want to be Marjane. Just because in the novel half of the characters in the story had been through torture or very hard circumstances because of the revolution in Iran. It seemed like so far the only person that didnt experience any physical punishment from results of all this would be Marjane, and thats just because of her age and how her parents have tried to shelter her as much as possible.

  7. I would chose to be Marjane because she is strong- willed. She is so caring to others and at times she will speak her mind. Her character is like my personality. I say the wrong things at the wrong times and I don't mean to say them it just comes out. Marjane always wants to help out and join the demonstrations to help her country. Sometimes I felt like that when things happen in the world that I don't agree with politics. I sometimes want to do something to help but I know its dangerous too. So I just stay laid back and say how I feel and I dont act on it unless I have to.

  8. If I could chose any character out of the book to be I would be Francisco. Reason why I would choose Francisco is because he first is a great writer. Not so much of a good speller but as in specking from the heart when he writes. When Mark the teacher asked him to describe himself in one paragraph he did so well. He explained in so many words why he was the way he was. He stood out so well to me just in two pages.

  9. In The Persepolis, the character I'd want to be is Marjane. The reason why I would be Marjane is because she stood up for what she believed in. She believed in freedom for women and fighting for her country. Marjane stood out by fighting for women’s freedom during the Islamic revolution. By her risking her life for people made her a hero and that’s how she stood out to me.

  10. I wouldn’t want to be Marjane at all. She is just all over the place with what she believes in. she is confused because she doesn’t have all the facts about the war and the government. She makes up imaginary figures in her mind that she talks to, I guess it’s to help her cope with what she doesn’t understand. If she in fact gets it together and gets a better understanding of what her beliefs are then I’ll definitely pick her because she has a lot of potential to grow into a very distinguished woman.

  11. If i could be any character in persepolis. I would probably be the newly intruduced Uncle Anoosh. Sure This character wasn't in more than two chapters but he was an intelectual. He had a masters in Marxism and Leninism. He was educated. He did all that he could to help teach Marjane. Helping her understand the pressing current politcal issues, as well as some light history. He was educated, patient, and caring. I see a sub image of my persona in him. So I guess its not that I would be him, more that I see myself in him.

  12. Out of the book I would like to be Toa, because he seems more interactive with Mark and he is very outgoing like myself. He stands out to me because he says "fool" alot and I use that word faithfully. Anpther person I would like to be is Mark, the author. I feel like him and I go thru the same thing sometimes because I once felt in danger and trying to relax and get comfortable, this was when I first started taking public transportation.

  13. I can relate to Mark in True Notebook because he is a very relaxed and calm guy. I’m pretty laded back kind of person that just kind of goes with the flow with what’s going on in the environment I’m in. He also seems to get along with some of people in the Juvenile Hall. I can mostly get along with anyone if you really nice and we relate somehow in somewhat way. Such as if we have the same interest then I can get really into detail with a conversation and I really enjoy that. Mark also seems the same way when he talks to Sister Janet.

  14. If I could pick any character from the book, I would choose to be Sister. She doesn't let anyone stand in the way from doing what she thinks is right. She see's the good in everyone, even if they have committed a crime.
