  1. Marjane, views Anoosh as a hero because of the things that he fought for while he was a spy during the revolution. She fights for what she believes in and thinks that some of Anoosh's traits rubbed off on her. She and Anoosh were very similar in the way for they fight for their rights to live freely. Her whole fighting for what she believed started after Anoosh's death when she was younger.
I don't think I can choose just one hero, I think I have to choose two. My parents to me are my hero's. They have devoted their whole life to me and have made me who I am today. They've put up with a lot of my actions good or bad but in the end they are always there for me. They are my hero's not because of things that they've done in a professional aspect but in terms of always fighting and pushing in my favor and never giving up on me.

  2. What made him a hero the inmates was the fact that he would come every day help them out on their papers they would write and also when they were on lockdown Mark actually came and got them out to write. The fact that he showed compassion towards the inmates is why they look up to him as their hero.

  3. In True Notebook the inmates feel that Mark has made an impact into their lives and look at Mark as a hero. Mark is a hero in their eyes because the inmates see that he really care for them and he comes there every single day to come and help them to read and write. He is also saving them from sitting in their cells everyday and looking at the brick wall. Mark even gets some of the boys out of their cell when they were on lock down for a couple days and they look up to him and see that he can really do something and make a real change in their life. Mark has done a huge impact into their life by making them show their real self with a piece of paper and a pencil. My hero would be my mom because she kept pushing me and shoving me to get up and do something with my life. She wouldn’t stop pushing me to call Columbia and ask them about the Bridge Program and when I had to attend these classes. Then finally one day I got sick of her saying the same thing and called Columbia and got on the internet and looked at the Bridge Program and went to the opening for the classes and I’m here now and coming down to my last week. From what she has been telling people, she is proud of me and it’s always a good feeling when your hero is proud of you.

  5. In the Persepolis, Marjane viewed her uncle as a hero. She viewed her uncle as a hero because she looked up to him. Marjane looked up to her uncle because he risked getting in trouble by spying during the Iran revolution. Marjane also risked herself in the beginning of the story by fighting in the war. Both Marjane and her uncle took risks and because of that she can relate to her uncle. Marjane don’t only look up to her uncle, she talks to him because she knows they can relate to things and he always know what to say. My grandma is my hero because she knows me more than anyone else. I can talk to my grandma about anything because she is very understanding and know what to say. My grandma advises me with every decision I make. Because my grandma is always there for me, I can count on her to be my hero.

  6. In True Notebooks, Mark is considered a hero because the juvenile students feel that he cares about them. I think that they also feel he is a hero because he take time to listen to them, he is very patience and doesn’t judge them like most people would. I think he may have had a major impact because I think the boys see themselves in Mark. My hero would have to be Mia Michaels because not only is she a dancer she is a story teller. Her dance pieces bring many emotions and I enjoy them, and I would like to someday do a Mia Michaels routine.

  7. Marjane views Anoosh as her hero because he doesn't put up with the government's standards. He is a rebel and that's what got him into jail. Anoosh chose not to listen to the rules. Marjane gets her rebellious spirit from her uncle. She looks up to him because he's not afraid to say how he feels. I agree with Marjane. She looks up to someone who doesn't care about what people say about him. Anoosh wants to make a change in their country. Anoosh is patriotic and he isn't afraid to practice his beliefs. I would look up to someone who is courageous as well.
My hero is my grandma because she has a loving personality. Anyone that knows her immediately wants to become her friend. She is independent and strong. I look up to her not as my granny, but also my best friend. I can talk to her about anything.

  8. Marjane feels Anoosh is a hero because of how he lives his life rebelling against the government. The time he came over and told her all the stories of his life to that point astonished her. The fact he had been in jail before for rebelling definitely made him a huge hero to her. She really cares for him because of the fact that he is more of an activist then her parents and isn’t afraid to die. Shia lebouf is my top hero out of all the people I consider my hero’s. Just the way he carries himself and his acting ability astounds me. Like I’ve said in a past reading response his career mirrors my life in many aspects. I just feel this connection to him even though we have never met let alone spoke to each other. I know its super weird but something about him makes him stand out in a vast crowd of young actors. Many people do not give him the credit he deserves for his acting in the Transformers series, just because it’s a action flick does not mean that it doesn’t take superb acting skill in reacting to things that are not even there. I had to critique my favorite scene from my favorite movie and I did the forest battle from Transformers Revenge of the fallen. In that critique I not only discussed the outstanding visual effects that scene had but also the true conviction Shia has to a role of that scale. It’s not easy for an actor to come in and a director tell them “run over to that tree and look over there, now your sad and in disbelief ok scene over” when there is nothing there but a plain forest. I commend him for all he has done for me personally and what he has done in his career and I cannot wait to see what’s in store for us both in the near future. I plan to either star alongside him in a movie or direct a film with him as the main character; it would be fantastic if it could all be rolled into one.

  9. Mark has become a hero to all the inmates. Mark has helped them to show their true feelings. Most of them had that tough guy attitude about them until they started to write. Once the writing began, I felt like I even began to know the inmates on a personal level. Throughout the story Mark has continued to inspire the boys. The writing class helps the boys stay away from the violence that happens within the jail. The boys are still teenagers that need an education to keep sane while being locked up for life. Mark is willing to dedicate his time which shows that he cares. My oldest brother Marty is my hero. In high school he did not get the best of grades so my parents made him go to a community college for two years. In those two years his grades increased and he moved on to Depaul University. He graduated from there this year with a degree in marketing and communications. He now works for Marcel Media downtown. He is always trying to be the best person he can be. He always encourages me to stay focused and do not let stupid drama get in the way of what I was meant to do. I saw him improve and become a successful business man. I know I can do the same with dance.

  10. I do not disagree with Anoosh being a hero in Marjanes eyes. For one its not for me to decide who she looks up to. Second Anoosh was a very politically active intellectual. I to would look up to Anoosh. I will be honest and say that in my younger years I would have probably been young and foolish, paying very little attention a family member that resembled Anoosh. Of course I did not grow up in the time and conditions that Marjane did. On the other hand, Just as I have grown apart and recently reconnected with my father, I feel that I would have learned to appreciate a man of such statue. Anooshes commitment to knowledge and action for the good of the people of his country is without question a very valiant and noble quality.
I mentioned that I had once grown apart from my father and recently reconnected with him. It may seem cliche but my father is my hero. Through my life he has loved me like a father should. Through the seperation between him and my mother and through my years of rebellion. My father has always done everything he can for me, even when he did not have the resources to do so. I sometimes felt my father was a bothersome ignorant man, but he stood by me. After so long I guess he must have known that I would mature and that I would sooner than later understand his value in my life and my value in his. I cannot take back the years of my life in which I pushed him away and scarcely visited him, but I can love him for all that he does for me. In the next four years of my life I will not only devot my mind to the study of music, but also to my relationship with my father. He is doing more then he should against his own economic standing for me to go to college, and I will not let him down. I will become successful not only for myself and my dearest companion, but also for my father who put my first guitar in my hand.
